DIY: Floral arrangements!
These 3 arrangements cost me less than $45!!!
Who doesn’t love fresh beautiful flowers?! I love receiving and sending beautiful vases of flowers, but they can be very expensive. I recently discovered that Trader Joe’s has gorgeous, fresh flowers that are very affordable!
Cut stems
Since I’m working with clear vases, I like to trim any dead pieces and remove most of the leaves so it doesn’t touch the water. Cut each stem at an angle. I normally like to cut hydrangeas just enough to where the bottom flowers barely touch the vase rim.
Quick instructions:
Sort flowers
Fill vases halfway with cold water and flower food or spoon of sugar
Trim stems at a 45 degree vertical angle
Start by placing bigger flowers in the vase
Place more vibrant flowers next
Fill in the gaps with filler flowers last
Change water & add food flower or spoon full of sugar every 2-3 days to keep them fresh
** FYI I’ve never been a florist. I am a complete amateur, but this method has worked for me through trial and error! If you have any tips please PLEASE send them my way!!
